Smart Computing  - This publication has lots of articles on data recovery. They give you a snippet of information but you have to order the copy to get the rest of the article. The most informative articles are "How to Retrieve Your Data After Disaster Strikes", and "File Recovery to File Maker."

ComputerEdge  - This magazine site's files are in pdf (Adobe Acrobat) form. In their archives, "Deleting Your Files for Good" (August 2003) is a not so technical article that gives the computer novice an idea of the delete process.

Windows XP News  - "Some Data Never Dies" is one article you can find in their archives. Although this site is for Windows XP users, the information still applies to other versions of windows.
