GEDonline - Here is a short history, requirements for taking the GED test, GED test subjects, and other questions you may have. Although many answers refer you to state agencies, this information gives you a general idea about the General Educational Development Test.

GED Facts  - This site gives some statistical facts about the GED. You will see a brief history of the GED test here.

Center for Adult Learning Education Learning Credentials  - This is the GED Testing Service site and it site gives loads of information on such subjects as notable GED graduates, Test-Takers with Disabilities, history of the Test, posters, local GED contacts, brochures, news and more.

GED Test Centers  - This is the place to get information about your state's GED information. There are links to all fifty states and the District of Columbia, Canada, Corrections, and the Military where you can get information about GED testing. This is part of GED Online.

GED Success "GED Success"


New Mexico State University  - Myths - such as people with GED diplomas do not earn as much as high school graduates, the GED tests are easy, and the GED test was made for students who don't have the ability to get a high school diploma - are debunked.

Voices of Adult Learners  - There is a call for manuscripts from GED graduates for a writing contest. The winning manuscripts are rewarded with cash and published on the web. Writers get a copy of the book containing their work and the winners get to read their stories at a prestigious Virginia Festival of the Book event.

GED Success Stories  - It's nice seeing adult educators get some praise. This website has a number of GED success stories - testimonials from former students who used Brian Kasperitis' book titled "Pass the GED Today."

Free Online Courses and Tutorials  - "Bookmark this site - Tell A Friend About Page", There is a googol of information on this site and I don't know where to start: Free GED Courses and Tutorials, Scholarships and Grants, book publishers, etc. A great site!

Free-Ed.Net -- GED Prep  - Dave Heiserman, the Director of Free-Ed, offers free GED Preparation classes over the Internet. You do have to get your own books though. There are "74 units" which you could complete in 24 months at the most. Beware of pop up.

Kaplan  - For those who feel better paying a fee for their education, this is the best online site. Their teachers are topnotch.

The Adult Learners' Page  - There is a good number of resources here that range from job search to sports. There are some good Math, English, Writing, Social Studies, and Science lesson links here.

Steck-Vaughn -- GED Practice  - This traditional publisher of GED books lets you take practice tests online and gives feedback. You have to join first, free of charge.

Quality Education Products  - Here is where you can order the Official Practice Test Kit, GED Prep books, and more.

Association of Gospel Rescue Missions  - They list online traditional GED Prep publishers like Contemporary books, Curriculum Associates, and Globe-Fearon; and offline publishers Jamestown Publishers, New Readers Press, and KET - the Kentucky Network.

Mc-Graw Hill  - This is where you find the Contemporary GED Prep books, reproducible worksheets for students, Number Power, and other great traditional GED books.

Library Reproduction Service - This publisher makes "large print" books "for adults with special learning needs."

Steck-Vaughn  - You can order their GED Exercise Books, workbooks, Skillbooks, Practice Tests and other material that will prepare you for the GED. I feel they are the best when it comes to material for the GED.

GED Information for Educators "GED Information for Educators"


Central New York Staff Development Consortium  - Although it is a New York based site, this is a good place for adult educators to visit. It has a a good number of useful links such as "Welfare to Work", and "CTB -McGraw Hill: TABE/Adult Education Resources."

Adult Education Teachers' Place  - This math based site has at least six links which will help the teacher sharpen the student's math skills.

What You Need to Know About  - This site offers the teacher some good, thoughtful articles such as "Emotional Intelligence: Helping Adults Cope and Grow", "How to Foster Classroom Interaction", and "Focusing Your Class with Objectives 3." It's a good site with some great links, but look out for the popup!

Literacy Links - You can find some great links such as "Correctional Connections" and "Easy to Read Health Information."

GED Preparation Resources on the Web  - Teachers can get lesson plans, strategies, and teaching aids from links on this site.

GED - Electrical Devices "GED - Electrical Devices"


General Electronic Devices  - A different type of GED. This company "...manufactures crystal blanks from raw material quartz bars to final-sealed and fully tested components for use in our oscillators and discrete crystal elements."

Murata - In their Background section this manufacturer of "Large-capacitance Chip Monolithic Ceramic Capacitors" gives us an idea of what a general electronic device is.

MotionNet.com  - This site links to Crystal Oscillator Programmers, Distributors, Dealers & Reps, Associations, Manufacturers, Publishers, and Trade Journals. It allows you to add your company and advertise on their site, and even has a "Crystals Glossary."

Ursula K. Le Guin  - This is the website of the author of A Wizard of Earthsea. You can link to the map of the lands in Ged's time. Get to know the author, Ged, his shadow, and the dragon through this site.

Ned and Earthsea - You get a lot of insight about Ned, Earthsea, and Ursula LeGuin in this scholarly article by Jan M. Griffin titled "Ursula LeGuin's Magical World of Earthsea."

Barnes and Noble  - You can order A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, The Farthest Shore, Tales from Earthsea, and Tehanu online at reduced prices. There are also loads of reviews covering these books. Beware of the pop up!

Shadow Dancing: Meeting Your Secret Self and Becoming Whole  - Using Ged and his shadow as an example, Robin Robertson describes "... one classic way to release the shadow through our hubris and arrogance."

Ged and the Dragon art - Science Fiction and Fantasy come with a comment section.
